Kennet & Avon Canal Customer Forum

Starts: 24 January 2024

St James’ Centre in Devizes

As part of our work to engage with boaters and stakeholders on the Kennet & Avon Canal, in January 2024 we hosted a customer forum at the St James’ Centre in Devizes to offer the boating community the opportunity to meet with representatives from the Canal & River Trust, and to hear about our work on the canal.

The forum involved presentations from east and west area operations managers, Rob Coles and Anne Faulkner, as well as an opportunity to hear from ecologist Laura Mullholland.

You can access the presentations from the forum by watching the videos below.

The responses to the question and answer session at the forum are available to read online.

Rob Coles – Kennet & Avon (east)

Our Kennet & Avon Canal east section area operations manager provides an update on the canal from Wootton Locks to Reading and some of the challenges they’ve faced from the stormy weather experienced over the winter.

Anne Faulker – Kennet & Avon (west)

Our area operations manager for the western section of the canal, running from Bristol to Wootton Rivers, gives an insight into operations on the running of the canal and the ongoing challenges being faced to maintain the canal despite the challenges being presented by an ever-changing climate.

Laura Mullholland – ecology

Ecologist Laura Mullholland discusses the different wildlife you can discover along the canal and why the Kennet & Avon is such a great place for wildlife and the environment to flourish.
