Navigation Restriction: Lock 52, Trent & Mersey Canal

Please be informed that essential maintenance and repair works will be conducted at Lock 52 of the Trent & Mersey Canal. These works include the replacement of the top gates on the towpath side lock and repairs to the ground paddle on the offside lock.

Due to the deterioration of the top gates, it has become necessary to expedite these repairs. Consequently, we apologise for any inconvenience caused. However, we believe it is imperative to address these issues promptly to minimise further disruption, particularly during the upcoming summer months.

During the repair period, one lock will remain operational at all times to facilitate navigation. Please note that navigation will be only restricted to one lock duration of the works.

We kindly request all boaters in the vicinity to exercise caution and adhere to any instructions provided by our on-site team. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

We anticipate that these works will be completed by the 17th of May. Again, we apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
