Booking Information: The Rochdale Summit, Rochdale Canal

Following the success of the booking system in managing water resources on the summit pound of the Rochdale canal last year, thereby avoiding the need for closures, it makes sense to continue with the system.

This year we will be doing some further improvements to the availability seven days a week on the booking system for passage through the Summit pound, specifically from Lock 36 to Lock 37. This will continue to help us ensure water supply over throughout the summer months.

The booking system will be operational from April 1st to October 31st, 2024.

Passages between Sowerby Bridge and Manchester, as well as vice versa, will commence at 11 am every day of the week. To book your passage, you have two convenient options: either through your online account by selecting "Rochdale Summit" or by contacting us directly at 0303 040 4040.

Please be aware that bookings must be made by 11 am the day before your intended passage. Advanced bookings are encouraged to optimise the efficient utilisation of water resources and due to limited availability at times.
